How do you ladies feel about this product? I have had it for a while and can't seem to even remotely like it. I've applied with my fingers, as benefit suggests and it always ends up looking badly. With all the good reviews, it seems as though maybe I'm doing something wrong. Do you all have the same problem?

Honestly I didn't like it that much too. I mean, it did not impress me at all. Have you tried applying it with something else? Maybe it will get better.

I've applied with a stippling brush and it looked very streaky... With fingers it looked splotchy and streaky... And a damp beauty blender provided the best - but it will still a little splotchy

That product is definitely matte and also not meant to give lots of coverage. But to help with the application, try exfoliating your skin before (I make sure to do this if I'm wearing a matte finish product) that way your skin is nice and smooth and free of any dry patchy skin.) Using a moisturizer or a hydrating primer underneath will provide a smooth canvas for the product to go over. Try those steps and it should help!
