In my opinion, this is the best stick foundation on the market. It works well with combination to dry skin types, and the coverage is completely adjustable. It can go from light coverage, and it is easy to layer if you want or need more medium to full coverage. Finish wise, I would say it has a slight dew to it, and for being a stick foundation it looks surprisingly realistic on the skin. It won't make your skin look waxy like some stick foundations have a tendency to do no matter how much you blend and buff. Great wear time as well. This foundation is a total winner in my book.  :)

The only things that are similar about the MUFE Ultra HD Stick and Bobbi Brown's Stick (old and new formulation) is coverage: Sheer to buildable medium/full, and ease of application/blending. Bobbi's old formula stick foundation is a good one... Nice satin type of finish, easy to blend, and it's relatively easy to build up coverage with her old stick. The new Bobbi Brown stick? The finish is a bit different, it has more of a natural finish to it, and the coverage isn't as good as Bobbi's original stick foundation. Why Bobbi Brown is marketing the reformulated stick foundation as being good for all skin types is beyond me. As with the old formulation, her stick foundation works well with more combination or a dry skin type. If one places the new Bobbi (as well as the old formulation) on oily skin, their skin will end up looking completely greasy. If have an oily T-zone, skip applying it to that area, and use it on the areas wherein oil production isn't as significant.

In my opinion, MUFE's Ultra Stick wipes the floor with Bobbi's foundation stick (past and present). Where this foundation excels is in texture and how it looks on the skin. It is the most 'skin like' looking type of foundation in any stick form. It also feels like absolutely nothing on the skin whereas Bobbi's... you can feel and see it on the skin. If you are working with high res cameras, the MUFE stick truly lives up to its promises: there is no visible texture to it. Is it possible to overload the skin and have this foundation look a bit too waxy and thick? Sure, but that can be said for any stick foundation simply because of the base ingredients that keep the foundation in solid form. It can also look unnecessarily heavy and thick if you powder this foundation and then keep applying layers of it over powder. With dry skin, powder is the enemy anyway, so there's just no need or reason to powder between layers. If you need more coverage, just go back over those areas with a bit more of the product.

Wear wise, there is no comparison: the MUFE Ultra stick is pretty tenacious. Depending on what you are doing or where you live(Hot/Humid), the MUFE stays put, whereas with the Bobbi Brown... one will have to touch it up after a few hours. The MUFE is just an all around better foundation in my opinion, and I will never go back to Bobbi Brown's foundation stick.  ;)

Well, I can only answer for myself, but there are some definite advantages to them over more traditional liquid and/or cream foundations. For the most part, when you are wearing a stick foundation, you are basically wearing a cream to powder sort of product. Most stick foundations don't need to be powdered down, and are generally more friendly to normal, dry, or combo skin types. The only stick foundation that I have come across that 'can' work on a more oily skin type is Kryolan's TV Paint Stick, but even then, the skin has to be meticulously prepped.

Unlike cream to powder foundations, stick foundations can tend to look thick on skin because of the wax base. That being said, with the HD platform being what it is, several companies have really stepped up their game in terms of producing stick foundations that can stand up to high camera resolution. In addition, most stick foundations have a stronger pigment to filler ratio, so you end up having to use less product to get better coverage, and in some cases they are more wallet friendly. They can and do double as concealers as well, so you kind of get 2 products for the price of one, and they are much more adjustable in terms of coverage than a standard liquid medium coverage liquid or cream foundation.

You're welcome Nathalie, I think you'll really like it. ;)

Chris; I just apply a swipe on my forehead, one on each cheek, my chin and on the bridge of my nose. I then just take a paddle foundation brush and blend it in outward motions. Once my entire face is covered, then I just take my paddle and move it in a downwards motions for a final blend. If I need more coverage, I'll apply another swipe wherever I need it and just blend out the edges. . There really is no right or wrong way to apply it. Some people use their fingers and/or sponges to blend... I just prefer to blend with my brush.  ;)
