I keep breaking out in whiteheads. Very morning there are 4-6 new ones, and I end up popping them. I haven't changed my skin care routine, and I don't know what is happening. It's not 'that time of the month', so I'm not sure what to do. I've heard of taking Aleve or Ibuprofen, or even not washing my face at all. It's really embarrassing and I don't know what to do about it. Help!

Have you been changing your pillowcases and towels for clean ones?

What products are in your current skin care routine? It doesn't have to be the time of your month for it to be hormonal though! Since they continue to appear they may actually be hormonal. I've had hormonal acne but never broke out during my time of the month. Every time I got them extracted by an esthetician (or myself) there would be more the next day. If you find that happens then hold off on extracting them as that can create trauma to the skin. Search for a dermatologist who specializes in acne so you receive appropriate help.

You're welcome Arayah! As far as my story goes, dermatologist gave me an antibiotic that stopped them from forming. He injected my acne with cortisone (on a pain scale... Getting your eyebrows done hurts more) and they basically disappeared. The injection was covered by my insurance so check with yours. He recommended Ortho Tri Cyclen, YAZ and Estrostrep since they are the only birth control pills approved by the FDA for acne. It's been great since :)
