So I really want to start using coconut oil in my hair. The problem is, I have heard "horror" stories of people doing it too much or doing it wrong in some way and ruining their previously healthy hair. So I was wondering... How often should I do it? How do I do it? When in my routine/day should I do it? and If it will help with frizziness.
By the way, I have medium to long hair that is curly and somewhat thick. It is pretty frizzy but healthy at the same time.
Thank you in advance!

I do it once a week. I usually do it at night before a shower. and it does help my frizziness!! I do it like this. first Do NOT heat the coconut oil in the microwave....Use extra virgin coconut oil....Coconut oil begins to melt at 76 degrees....Apply to damp or dry hair....Massage the oil into the roots for a scalp treatment....Leave it on for at least 30 minutes....Use warm water to rinse the oil....Use a small amount for a leave-in conditioner.

I use a little and the shower and I think my hair looks better and it's soft too(: maybe I'm not supposed to put it on in the shower but I've only done it once and it made a difference. So maybe not my way but it definitely works

I do exactly like Hannah (tho I've been trying a million different masks lately) but once a week is what I do and has helped a ton

I do the coconut oil treatment whenever my hair feels course or frizzy. I massage enough oil in my hair to cover my whole head. Then I let it sit for about an hour, then wash it out in the shower with shampoo and conditioner. But be warned DO NOT PUT TO MUCH OIL IN YOUR HAIR. If you do then it will take extensive washing to remove it. As long as you use the correct amount you will end up with soft silky hair.
