Help! I need either haircut suggestions or a curly hair method to help define and refine my hair. Most of my hair is a wavy spiral mixture but some pieces get these perfect spiral curls and I would like to know how to get that in all my hair.

I really like using a silicon based hair oil after I shower and then apply John Frieda's straightening balm. It doesn't straighten your hair but it makes sure that there's no frizz and it defines them. I also really like John Frieda's mousse!

Hiya! I have more or less the same texture as you do; underneath is spiral corkscrew curls and on top is wavy/straight. On occasion, I'll use a curl gel or a mousse, like something from DevaCurl or Shea Moisture, which can help define the curls all over, but unfortunately, short of a perm or something equivalent, there's no real way to get permanent curls everywhere. However, I do suggest being very careful because with curl patterns like ours, they easily lose their shape and structure when confronted with heat or chemical processes.

You need to get a layered haircut. Use sulfate free shampoo. Use hair silicone free products for curly hair. After you shower apply hair serum, then a leave in conditioner. check out curlypenny at YouTube, she has a lot of advise.

Curls generally do what they want, so if you have two curl types on your head, you will mostly just have to embrace it. BUT if you have the patience, you can try using something like the DevaCurl curl clips to reshape certain curls. It's not foolproof, and it's fairly labor intensive if you need to do half your head, but it's excellent for special occasions.
My suggestion would be to find a stylist that can give you a DevaCut. Your curls will thank you! They will be the best to educate you on evening out your curls, styling them, keeping them healthy. And you'll walk out feeling like a million bucks, trust me.
