Get a brush cleaner it's the safest because sometimes soap can cause synthetic hairs to bleed ad leave a tint on your face

I use my own shampoo (which is fairly expensive =S). I run the brushes under warm water and put a little dab of shampoo in the palm of my hand, get the brush wet, and then rub in circles on my palm. Then rinse. This is how I was taught to wash paint brushes at an art place, so I assume it can be applied to make up brushes as well =] I also use make up brush sanitizer spray on the brushes as well sometimes between washes.

Baby shampoo, a dime size in the palm of the hand. Run warm water and put the brush bristles under the water to get out any product that's lurking. When damp, circular motions until the water from the brush runs clear. Lay on a towel until dry.
