Need Advice

I've always held an interest in all things cosmetology. i love to experiment with all sorts of make up, hair styles, and nails. I love to give advice, and do other peoples hair and make up, above other things. alot of my friends look upnto me for advice about style and cosmotology. I am in a class at school that is all about this stuff, but my mum wants me to take a step further. she wants me to enroll in proffesional classes. she says that it could be a hobby. I'm fifteen years old and I have other things on my plate. there's the normal stuff like school and work, but I do have some personal issues that take alot of time. is this worth making time for? do I have the rig kind of personality for this? I could really use some advice to any one who is wiling to give it. thank you!

If there is a small class outside of school that doesn't take too much time I'd go for it! But I'd recommend waiting until your a bit older to really get into that sort of hobby but I encourage you to keep up the work!

Depending on where you live, Country, State, and such, there can be programs outside of school you can take or even a work study program. As a formerly licensed cosmo, I will say this is a field where either you love it or hate it, You are still young so you have time to make a decision. But this isn't really a "hobby" type thing. If you are just going to continue to do friends and family's hair nails and make up just for fun, but have other ideas of what you want to do with your life, then I would suggest to skip a professional program. The time , effort and money spent will be a waste if it is just a hobby. There is totally nothing wrong with doing this for fun! It's supposed to be fun and you're supposed to enjoy doing it!
Basically, if this isn't a career you want to go into (right now, at least) then skip the professional schooling for now. Take the classes that you can through school. Like I said, you are young and have plenty of time to decide. :)
Out of curiosity, what ideas do you have for a career?

I'm going into counselling/social work. I'm taking classes for that right now. I have a personal background in abuse, so I am going to be working with extreme eating disorders, cutters, drug addicts, alcoholics, and abusive situations :) I just love to help people, and right now I'm working with the mental health department at the hospital to make a counselling group called 'Inner Beauty'. its about how to build your self esteem, and how to react when people put you down. A lot of people say I act older because I'm already working in the mental Heath department at the hospital, but it's my dream. I also had to 'grow up' sooner then kids my age
