I recently purchased the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect foundation in Ivory. I absolutely love it, the coverage is brilliant, the colour is a great match for my skin, it's buildable, and much more. But (and here's the bit that's bugging me) it looks sparkly. Not dewy, not oily, sparkly. It's like I've lightly dusted fine glitter all over my face (which I haven't obviously). It's definitely the foundation that's doing this, because even without any other products at all on my face, it still turns out sparkly. I've tried applying it with a sponge and with a brush (it didn't look great when I tried applying it with my fingers) but it still became sparkly. Even after applying setting powder, the glitter still shows. Does anyone know why? And how can I stop it? Thank you.

I think it's just the foundation... Do you happen to have a picture for us to see? I know it happens a lot with Revlon foundations... For example, the Age Defying DNA foundation, also by Revlon, does the same thing. My mother uses it but she's not bothered by it. I suppose it goes by taste :)
Maybe you can mute it with some powder on top...

No sorry I don't think it will show up in a picture. I've tried powder and it still didn't work :( thank you though

Yeah I'm sorry about that... It just seems to be their thing to put shimmer in their foundation. Does it bother you so much that you don't want to use the foundation?
Who knows, maybe someone has a magic trick to make the sparkle disappear...!
Maybe a mattifying primer would work, but I've never tried doing so. I can try right now and see :)
I tried 3 different primers and the Revlon foundation still sparkles... :/

I don't know for sure. I did some research and shimmer seems to be a common denominator in Revlon foundations, but maybe go for one that says "matte" and maybe you'll have better luck!

Ya it's just the foundation that has sparkles in it

Honestly I would just try and rock it. Totally off topic, but when you said it sparkles the first thing I thought of was twilight and I how they should have use this foundation instead of that bad white foundation they used.

It's definitely that foundation! I returned it for that reason I even showed the girls that worked at ulta when I brought it back and they were like wtf?

You aren't the first person to notice it. I sampled it at Walgreens as they had a testing station set up with the foundation shades. According to them the "shimmer" acts as a diffuser of minor skin issues giving off that airbrush look. Personally I think they were lazy in the research department and screwed up in formulation because the particles are too large and too much in ratio. It was a nightmare to remove from my hand. Even after I removed it some of the glitter did remain.

I would just return it. I saw the same in an anti redness primer from Catrice. It made no sense. Later I read on the net they had a bad batch and were trying to sell it anyways.

It's definitely just the foundation. sometimes companies will use micro sparkles to "diffuse light" (as if they ever do). most of the time you won't end up looking sparkly from out but revlon went overboard and the particles are too big. as far as I know thats the only revlon foundation like that. loreal true match has the sparkles in it too they are just much more subtle on the face because they're smaller.
