Okay, here's the deal. I am almost 28 and am looking to start introducing more into my skin care routine. I currently use loreal future-e with spf, coconut oil/neutrogena make up remover, Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion (almost out)/Olay microdermabrasion (white with red cap), witch hazel toner, and cerave hydrating wash. I also use First Aid Beauty cream when face is extra dry. I only wash at night or if I shower. I do forget sometimes and go to bed with makeup. I know, BAD! I have very fair, almost translucent skin and deep crows feet run in the family. My skin gets dry easily my forehead and chin often itch (I think because of dryness). With how delicate my skin is I want to make sure I do everything I can to slow the aging process. However, I like very simple upkeep. ; )
I think I need to be more strict with my nighttime routine and also add a night cream. So night cream and some type of anti-aging product/replacement added. I would love suggestions on both and any other people have. I am not wealthy by any means but am willing to pay more for a product of good quality or that will last for long enough to justify. Thanks in advance! Oh, and my skin isn't very break out prone, jus the occasional hormones. I do get red very easily and have redness in my cheeks. So I am somewhat sensitive.

I would integrate a Vitamin C serum for day. The anti-oxidents are tried & true as being very protective against free-radicals that attack your skin and prematurely age your skin. Also for night, I would introduce some kind of retinol cream. It will increase your skin cell turnover, smooth the texture of your skin & even skintone, and helps build collagen and aid in the prevention of break outs.

Do you have any suggestions for a quality vitamin c product? I have read I can get a decent retinol cream at a drugstore but I do not recall what it was called.

I mean been meaning to add a serum. I tried some from the body shop (I had credit due to their error) and they made me break out. Plus, I don't think they are quality.

I use a very reputable one from Skinceuticals but it's pricey. Ole Henriksen is popular too, it's at Sephora. Mid range price.

Great! Thanks go much! That was helpful Marleen and Rozberry.

Hi, since your skin is dry, I would suggest a hydrating and anti aging serum such as Lancome Genifique. I started it at your age and it resolved my flaky/itchy skin problems due to dryness.

I agree with adding a vitamin c serum! I thought I'd pop in and make a suggestion. The Super-C Serum from Body Merry is amaaaazing. And it has retinol in it, so you can kill two birds with one stone if you don't want to add more than one product. I think it's only available on Amazon, but if I remember correctly it was pretty cheap (for what you're getting), it was in the $15-20 range, and the bottle is quite large!

Kailey, their stuff has great reviews! Now I want to see if there is anything else from them I want! I can't decide between that with the retinol or the Mario badesco vitamin c serum. Does anyone have an opinion on also adding something with retinol in addition to vitamin c? I also see different opinions on when to use a vitamin c serum, night or day? I suppose if I did one with retinol in addition I'd use at night.
