I have tried several translucent loose powders, for example the NYX one but they al give me terrible terrible flashback in photos no matter what I try, I've heard Laura mercier is good but I don't want to spend so much on a powder which does the exact same as the others😂 any tips?

I've used the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder in flash photography and didn't experience any flashback (:

If you're talking about the NYX HD finishing powder, then yes it'll cause flashback.
It's not meant to be used as a setting powder.
Setting powder and finishing powder are used differently.
I'm not too sure about the Laura Mercier just check up on the ingredients.
Usually those with a large amount of silica (NYX one is pretty much just silica from what I recall) will cause flashback and should just be used sparingly
