I'm considering getting a couple of microdermal piercing on the back of my neck, but have long hair, has anyone else had them done, did you have any problems with them or caught them on anything?

I have my nape done (back of neck) with a staple bar, looks exactly the same as dermals but I personally don't recommend dermals they have a much higher rejection rate than surface piercings however both can reject if your body chooses to do so. I've had mine for about 6 years now, when I had it pierced I only really expected it to last maybe 2 years as they aren't permanent piercings for most people. Also, some piercers that do surface piercings will try and use plastic bars, don't use those either. As far as getting it caught on things I only had problems with my towel at first but that only happened a couple of times and when I comb my hair my brush might scrape it occasionally if I forget to be cautious of it however the healing in my opinion was super easy, I've never had any problems with mine but that's not always the case. I recommend researching piercers.

This is the type of Bar I have in mine and the only sort of surface piercing jewellery I'd recommend.

And it does hurt to get done lol not going to lie, I've had a lot of different piercings along with my dimples aswell and my neck is my most memorable for being painful compared to my others.

The reason I wanted dermals over a surface was due to rejection as my naval rejected over the course of 6 months and my tongue piercing has moved a fair distance over 2 years, would you recommend avoiding getting it done surface or dermal if this has happened?

I personally feel like if you know your body doesn't react well with surface piercings then maybe thinking about how much you really want it and whether it's worth the risk, both dermals and surface piercings are prone to rejection however like I mentioned the staple bars I've found do make a difference to the longevity of the piercing (I've had my collarbones done with surface bars also but took them out when I got a kitten a few years ago, she would chew them lol) To be honest with you though my nape is definitely my favourite piercing, I'm always stressed that one day I'll wake up and it'll be rejecting but after about 3/4 years of having it my piercer told me its permanent now lol I could Change the jewellery, super weird but I just have better luck than most with piercings. I do love my nape piercing though!

Oh! And they don't scar terribly either, where my collarbones were done you can't even tell after about 6 months there's little to no scarring at all, so you could get it done and enjoy it for about 1-2 years and if you're unlucky could just have it removed which is surprisingly easy for a piercer to do and didn't feel anything :)
