On my upperarms I have these weird red bumps. When I scratch them-they get very itchy-it gets a white ring around it. I am just curious as to what it is because it is very weird and sometimes I feel self conscious about them whenever they are shown and sometimes when somebody touches that area of my arm they go "What IS that!?" and it makes me feel weird. I will post pictures of each arm. If you guys know what it is, what could I do to get rid of it and make sure it doesn't come back?

It may be KP. I've had it all my life and haven't found a way to successfully get rid of it. Chemical exfoliants (BHAs and AHAs) work for some. If you'd like to give that a shot I'd recommend Paula's Choice.

Thank you. I will have to look into that.

It could be keratosis pelaris, otherwise known as "chicken skin"
It's just a slight malfunctioning of the hair follicles on the upper arm, and can generally be treated with exfoliating agents like glygolic or salicylic acid.

Yeah it looks like KP to me. I have it as well, a bit worse than yours. If it's itchy that's because it's dry, so moisturize your arms daily (I like lubriderm). I also just started using Mario Badescu's AHA body wash, and have already noticed a big improvement! It's not crazy expensive either and can be purchased at Ulta. My dermatologist has recommended AmLactin to me in the past, which I think is an AHA lotion, but I didn't like the smell/texture so it didn't work out for me - still good to look into though! Also, people are rude, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. A lot of people have it, and it is treatable, not contagious, and other than some itching has no major effects on quality of life :)
