Hello! My hair is very thick and mousse does not work at all in my hair. It either fails to do its job or makes my hair look extremely poofy. I have no idea if I'm just applying it wrong or I'm not using a strong enough mousse or if any would even work with my hair. The few times I've applied it, I put it on when my hair was wet and brushed it through with my fingers, and it left my hair very sticky and straight. I use a L'Oreal mousse. Help would be appreciated!

What exactly is the purpose you are using mousse for? Mousse is meant to give definition to the hair, and essentially help you "mold" it into a specific shape. Typically best for curly hair because it keeps the shape without getting "crunchy" - like hairspray.

If you're trying to make it wavy/curly - I have very thick hair also and I use Rock Your Hair curl creme. I buy it at Sally's but you may be able to find it at drugstores. It defines my curls but keeps my hair from getting frizzy also!
