Looking for a good lip primer ladies that works good.

I haven't had too much luck with actual lip primers. I think if a formula of lipstick is claimed as long wearing it should hold up as well as properly prepped lips. So exfoliating gently using a sugar scrub or even a toothbrush to remove dead skin and letting a lip balm soak in (I prefer petroleum free because it hydrates better rather sit on top of the skin) then I'll wipe away the excess before applying my lippie :)
