What do you ladies do when you straighten your hair? Because whenever I straighten it, it gets straight but it's like a frizzy straight and not the sleek and silky straight that I want. What products am I supposed to put on before straightening? I do use heat protectant and that's it.

What kind of straightener do you use? I use Garnier Sleek and Shine Hair Straightening serum and then after I'm done I use an olive oil hair shine spray.

You can also use hairspray and brush it through to reduce frizz.

I second the higher end flat iron. I used to use a cheaper chi iron, I'm not sure which model, and it always left my hair looking frizzy and fried. As soon as I switched to babyliss irons, I've never had that issue.

Mimi suggested Garnier sleek and shine which is great because it's a spray. It does make your hair softer and have my shine to it. However small quantities of the product is best! It can make your hair oily and it sometimes dries your hair out. Anytime you use a product like that one it will make your hair dry or oily depend on your hair type. So small amounts is great! Also, ogx has a hydration oil that works really well. Paul Mitchell smoothing serum is really good too. These products will help you achieve that look. Heat protectant is great. Also beyond straightening make sure you have a good hair care routine :)

My favourite product lately has been Aveda Nourishing Styling Crème. I'm sure you can find it online or through a salon. It's pricey but you need a teeny bit and it's a miracle worker. You can even air dry your hair and it'll be frizz free! It makes my hair so sleek and smooth even living in the Florida humidity.
