Hi everyone! As someone with kinky curly hair (4b), I know for a FACT that it can be super difficult to manage. Does anyone have some recommendations (hairstyles, tips, products) that they've learned over the years? Just curious. Thanks in advance!

As of now I use Pantene strengthening shampoo and conditioner, as well as devachaun conditioner, and argan oil.

Usually I'll put my hair up in a pineapple, bun, or a ponytail.

Well first it's not good to put your hair up in a bun or ponytail it creates breakage and will damage the curls so when you go to bed put it in a really loose braid and if you do wear a bun or pony tail out make sure it's not to tight also castor oil works really good and if you really want to make a difference in your hair I would switch the shampoos Pantene and brands like L'Oréal are not usually good for curly hair instead use shea products or matrix but it depends on your price range. Never never never brush your hair when it's wet always comb if your brush it it will totally break and you will honestly regret it I know I do these are my best tips.

I would switch shampoo to a cleansing conditioner for curly hair. Or to a sulfate free shampoo. I think as long as you don't pull up your hair and don't grab it too hard you could do pony tails, buns and I love the pineapple to sleep in. Many people say that hair shouldn't be brushed when wet, but for curly hair we need to comb it when it's wet and well conditioned. And never brush it dry because that's how the curls break. I love Shea butter products. I have 3a and 3b curls, totallycurly.com has a lot of hair tips.

Yeah I agree with patty I would only brush hair when wet or not at all really. I don't see a need to brush hair. but use a wide tooth comb. this is my everyday hair routine and I have thick 4b hair. every morning I take out the braids I put in the night before and sprits with water and/or add a moisturizer. and most of the time I also put in a gel or curling cream and seal it with oil and style. at night in the shower I wet my curls and finger detangle and add oil to again seal in oil then put back in the braids and sleep with my bonnet

as for my wash routine I either use a cleansing conditioner or first use a conditioner on my hair and while it is still in my hair I add a shampoo to the roots because I want to remove buildup from products.
if I just use conditioner that's good to but I like to rinse with apple cider vinegar solute
also bentonite clay mask is great too
