I have had a pretty flaky scalp over the last few years and I'm going crazy trying to find a solution. I've done coconut oil, olive oil, t gel, extra strength t gel, diet change, expensive scalp oils, dozens of hair masks, clarifying shampoos, and no luck. I seem to always have it. But it gets worse as my hair gets dirtier. Really desperate for help here.

Hey Kylie. I've been through this too. I tried everything for years until I visited the dermatologist and he said I have eczema on my scalp. I now have a prescription shampoo and lotion and they truly make an incredibly difference and I can finally let my hair done without being nervous about flakes.

Thank you! I'm just not sure that my insurance covers dermatology 🙈 I will look into it but am open to any other suggestions.

If not when my eczema isn't toooo bad I use a lush shampoo called rehab. the peppermint is really good at getting rid of the fungus, you can even get peppermint essential oil and add a few drops. but honestly, if nothing works then you need medicated products and the only way is through your doctor or derm... I know it can be pricey.

I have tried tgel, head and shoulders, tea tree oil, coconut oil etc.too. This is the only one that has ended up working for me.
It is a bit pricey for the amount you get, I think its 14 dollars. I use it about 1 a week now for maintenance, but I was using it 2-3 times a week when mine was bad.
I find it to be stripping like how a clarifying shampoo is, so I always use a hair mask after on the lengths (not at my scalp) so it doesn't dry my hair out too much.
