Hey everyone! So I got my first cold sore and I was wondering if It's safe wear facial makeup ex (Foundation, Bronzer, Highlight, etc) Kind of a dumb question but I don't want to possibly spread it I guess? Please let me know if it is safe!😂

You can wear foundation and your eye makeup, etc.as normal however I'd avoid using lipstick or lip products while you have the cold sore, you can go to a chemist and get something for it that should help it go away within a couple of days.

Yes you can spread it. Use liquid ban aid, it's going to hurt A LOT but it will create a barrier.

DO NOT put makeup on it. you will get bacteria on your makeup and brushes and it will spread. the makeup will probably irritate it too. also, you should be using cold sore medications like thise patches or creams.

Btw, cold sore is herpes simplex which is a virus and not a bacteria. and yes you are contagious.

Years ago my dentist prescribed me zovirax. if I feel one starting I take 2 pills and it goes away. have taken for a long time and it has never failed.
