The saline spray, make sure you're turning them so the holes don't tighten up. just be really gentle

Sorry! somehow hit post...
move it around just a bit. In the shower I made sure to clean off any...um...healing that would build up. For me a barbell healed easier. And agree with Kim about 9/10 months.

It can take up to a year. You should be cleaning it daily still up to 9 months at least.
Also don't twist the jewelry! It can tear the fistula and cause it to repeatedly prolong the healing, even starting it over if it tears the tissue enough. If there's any build up of crustys you can soak it in saline, use a shot glass and lean over it with your nipple in it for at least 5-10 minutes, and then gently wipe it with a qtip soaked in saline as well. Never pick at the crusty stuff. Just let it soak and if it doesn't easily come off, soak it more and repeat till it comes off or let the water in the shower drip onto it. Not directly and not too warm, just enough to let some water soak it and warm the crustys

Well good to know since I was twisting and cleaning off crusties I was using the spray until like a week ago I ran out I'll have to go buy more I can't believe how long this healing process is although I would do all over again I do love them thank you all!

If you don't have the spray sea salt mixed in hot water (1tbsp for every litre) is pretty much the same thing and much cheaper.
Good luck with healing! I want mine done but they're way too sensitive so I'm scared lol.

I have both mine done, and I'm at the 9 month mark now. I mostly just follow the litha (leave it the hell alone) approach. I clean them thoroughly every few days with sea salt solution but otherwise I just let the water in the shower clean off crusties and just let them do their own thing!

I've had mine a year & they still crust even with regular cleaning. I've read that some people's have been crusting for years!

Most piercings crust every so often. with your nipples especially it's nothing to worry about, it's mostly just lymphatic fluid as your body "cleans" itself. just leave them alone, keep them clean and don't knock them and you should be all good! Nipple piercings can be so fussy!

I used to be a body piercer and they do take a long time to heal up. all the girls have been spot on with their advice. soak any crust off with warm water. like when showering and give it a little wiggle when using your spray. don't over do it and most of all be mindful you know have it. I caught mine on the towel a few times when I got it. ouch! lol.
