I personally think they are great quality brushes!! I have a few of the face brushes from Walmart n they are amazing. I find them better than some sigma brushes that I own. The cost is better n the overall quality is better in my opinion

Are you interested in a particular series within the Royal & Langnickel lineup?

Jacqueline, there wasnt a particular series of brushes. I didn't want to get set on these before I knew if they were good quality.

I love Royal & Langnickel brushes. I have a few different series: Revolution, Silk Pro and the Master Pro series and I have zero complaints.

Jacqueline is the brush Sensai, among other things! I always follow her advise.
I myself have only two Royal & Langnickel brushes but I love them!

I have a question since we're on the topic. do the natrafil brushes REALLY perform as well as natural hair for blending? like as good as goat? and had anyone found out what type of natural hair they use?

Do they perform as well natural bristle? Pretty close. Animal bristle has a microscopic surface texture called the cuticle, which if you look close enough resemble fish scales. These scales grab and hold onto powder media and then release it when brushed or pushed against another surface. The Natrafill is a polyester filament that has a similarly textured surface that mimics those scales. The problem with Taklon, Nylon and some polyester filaments before Natrafil was that there was no textured surface to grab and hold powder products, so one had to spend more time building up product to get the kind of results that one would get with a natural bristle brush in much less time.

Would I say that Natrafil is better? No. Do I think it rivals natural bristle? Yes. There will always be a heated debate over natural versus synthetic, and I think in the brush world, there is room for both. There are some things that synthetic brushes are better for, and there are somethings that natural bristle is better for, and I do not believe that Natrafil can cover every type of application; hence eliminating natural bristle brushes.

I have attached a pic for you. The brush on the left is a Revolution Natrafil, the brush on the right is Kevyn Aucoins's Base shadow brush. You can see that the shape is similar and that the Revolution brush (Natrafil) material has the needed texture to grab powder. I will attach 2 other photos so you can see the difference in pick up and lay down for you.

I used one of my red shadows and made 1 pass with each brush and applied it to my skin. The result on the left is the Revolution brush, the one on the right is Kevyn's brush. You can see a slightly better pick up and deposit of color with Kevyn's. If I had made 1 more pass with my Revolution brush, the color deposit would be as consistent to Kevyn's brush. That's what I mean by a negligible difference between the 2. A few years back, with any other synthetic brush material, I would have had to make 3 or 4 passes to get the same color deposit that you see with Kevyn's brush.

Here are both brushes: The Revolution Natrafil on the left, Kevyn's on the right. Kevyn's brush picked up more and deposited more. Once again, a somewhat negligible difference, but a difference nonetheless. I'm quite fond of the Natrafil Revolution brushes, but I wouldn't say they are better than natural bristle; they do rival natural bristle performance though.  ;)

Thank you so much for the comparison. I have always been super fond of natural hair brushes and definitely notice a difference in performance that I can't get comfortable with. I'll probably stick with the natural bristles for now but it's nice to know that there are advancements being made that at least improve the comparison of synthetic hairs.
