There is rust in my water and it's making my hair red. In a few weeks I'm going a medium blonde color and I don't want any red tones. How do I either get rid of the rust or make sure there's no redness in my hair??

Is there rust on the faucets?

If the rust is coming from inside the pipes, I'd really get that checked out by a plumber, as other toxic things from inside the pipes might be getting into your water. probably the pipes need to be exchanged or some sort of filter might help.

You have iron in your water. we live in t he country and it's a common problem out here. no matter what you try to fix it you will always have a bit of iron still in the water. my mom is blonde and it literally turned her hair orange. she spent a ton of money going to many different salons to have it fixed and nothing helped. she had to have all of her hair chopped off. I wouldn't recommend going blonde until you figure out how to get clear water.

Also there are a lot of things that you can buy to dump into your well to get rid of the iron but then you have to watch what kind of chemicals you use. there are filters that you can buy too. I'm not sure if you have culligan where you are but that might b something to look into.

There are shampoos that help to remove that build up. check with your hair stylist they can probably recommend one I can't remember the brand of the one I used to use...)
