I've seen so many girls on their tuturiols that use this as a primer because they say that it helps their makeup last so much longer. I wanted to know if any ladies tried this before and is it worth the hype?

I too have seen it currently in a makeup tutorial and it's quite interesting. Since it has glycerin, then it makes sense as to why their makeup lasts longer, since glycerin acts like a glue. I'm actually purchasing tomorrow to see how it works with my oily skin. I mean it's inexpensive so it's worth a try (:

I have extremely dry, dehydrated skin and I didn't like it. I need a more moisterizing product. I didn't think I would like it, because YOUNG, WILD & POLISHED (youtuber) loved it and she has oily skin. But my husband already had it, so I tried it. Also, another deal breaker is the manly aftershave men's scent. Can't stand it, even though it dissipates after a few minutes. I just bought the new Smashbox Oil Primer because I'm desperate. I will post a review after I use it. When I swatched in the store, it felt comparable to the Hourglass Serum Primer (the clear one for oily skin, not the white mineral veil). But there is a significant price difference and the Hourglass glass one has silicone in it which I know can be drying in the long run. Even at 42.00 for the Smashbox, it's an oil. And typically, oils go a long way, and will last way longer than a lotion or cream like primer, so I felt it was not that expensive if it lasts 3 months or longer and more importantly if it benefits my dry skin.

I just bought mine so I've only used it once but it reaaaallllyyy moisturized my face and my foundation went on so easy. Makeup stayed on alll day and it seemed to transfer a lot less too. I liked the smell lol. Its also really cheap and you get so much in a nice glass bottle. Plus a little really does go a long way.

I also wanted to mention that Nivea actually has 2 primers for women. They come in jars and claim to be a primer/moisterizer. They make one for normal to combination and one for dry, sensitive skin. I haven't tried them but they supposedly smell better than the after shave balm and are getting good reviews. I'm guessing the biggest difference between the primer and the after shave balm other than the smell, is that the actual primers have more hydrating moisterizing  ingredients.

Star, here is a pic. Supposedly the price is comparable to the men's aftershave balm.
