I've been using it for years and almost never had a serious break out since. I noticed a complete difference after a week. Best thing ever!

I think it depends on if the soap is authentic black soap or not, the authentic one is 100% natural and isn't really "black" in colour it's more of dark brown with bits of lighter brown

It depends on your skin sensitivity. I have tried the Shea Moisture African black soap and have never broke out from it. It really deep cleans the pores and the face thoroughly, but it took time to get rid of my acne.
