I am having terrible luck finding makeup that will actually stay on my face. I have tried several foundations, primers and powders in all sorts of combos but nothing works - my tzone becomes an oil slick within a couple hours. I don't have time for so many touch ups during the day. Some foundations I've tried are L'oreal infalliable, ELDW, Maybelline Matte & Poreless, NARS velvet matte skin tint, Mac prolongwear (original & water proof). Primers I've tried: Too Faced primed & poreless, Benefit porefessional, hourglass mineral veil & a couple drug store. Powders I've tried are laura mercier, mac blot powder, rimmel stay matte. I drink a ton of water/tea, have a good skin care routine, eat healthy.

Use Becca ever matte poreless perfecting primer..its expensive but its AMAZING...I tried all of these primers you mentioned too..none helped except Becca...regarding foundation, Merle Norman Lasting Foundation is very good...drugstore I like Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation but its not very matte...with Becca ita good but for the ultimate longevity I would suggest Merle...powders I use rimmel stay matte translucent one...my makeup doesn't budge and the small amount of shine I get I can just dab away with a tissue...I recently bought UD de slick and all nighter sprays...but I have yet to use them with all of these products.

For skincare, I suggest clay masks like Freeman black sugar and coal mud mask...soap and glory scrub your nose in it...and lemon juice...these all help minimize pores and control oil a lot...be careful with lemon juice it can be a little harsh...also ice your face before applying makeup that helps too...let me know if any or all of these help :) x

You know... Try drinking tomato juice... And by that I mean just put pieces of tomato into mixer and add little water.. 3 times a day... Worked like a charm for me and am an Indian with so much oil on my face that am afraid they'll start laying pipe lines from my face.. All those you said didn't work for me too... I concentrated on controlling the oil...

I would make sure you're using a sulfate-free cleanser and a good moisturizer, I quite like the cerave lotion for oily skin cause you only need a small amount.
Also, try to ease up on the tea since they're a diuretic and can cause dehydration.

A good primer, as mentioned is the Becca Ever Matte one which you can get a travel size one at Sephora to try out.
I find that it works good, you have to dab it on but I find it doesn't play to well with some foundations.

A good lighter primer for oily skin is the Smashbox Photo Finish Light (also comes in a $16 travel size)
Which claims to be 60 or 65% water and I thought it wouldn't work but it actually does and I love it, plus it works with most foundations aside from powders IMO, I find powders don't go on as smoothly (I prefer the original photo finish when it comes to powder foundations.)
The Smashbox pore minimizer is also good for oily skin if you're seeking a pore minimizer, I find it works better for oily skin than the Benefit Porefessional.

As far as foundations, you pretty much mentioned. A few other ones I like for oily skin are the Sephora foundation that comes in an aerosol spray can.

A really good inexpensive powder that actually works for oily skin is the Paladio rice powder.

the MAC blot powder didn't nothing for me a few years ago but they did change the formula from talc to kaolin, I don't know exactly what year but the kaolin based one does work a tad better just make sure you use a blotting paper before applying the blot powder.

Jacqueline, I'm hoping to at least get maybe 5 hours wear of my makeup. But honestly I'd be happy with anything that doesn't make me look like an oil slick 1-2 hours after application.

And thanks for all of the suggestions ladies, I'll look into trying out the Becca
primer.

Rida sadly Bourjois' foundations are too dark for my pale skin, they make me look like I have a bad spray tan. I haven't tried the deslick spray but have used the all nighter - it was terrible, no matter what foundation I use it causes all of my makeup to sink into my pores in my tzone.

Navys, thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. Yah I'm trying to find anything now that'll control this oily mess.

Thanks Aurora! I have tried the Cerave moisturizer before - my skin did not like it all, I was shiney immediately after application and it broke me out terribly. I'm currently using an oil control one by FAB (I can't remember the correct name off the top of my head). I haven't tried that primer yet either so I'll check out a sample for that as well. I also do have the palladio rice powder - sometimes my skin likes it, other times it worsens it.

Thank you so much Jacqueline!! I'm definitely going to look into buying that primer and powder, they sound like just what I need. As for foundations, it looks like I need to test out quite a few more samples. Thanks again, this was a lot of help!

So, you may want to start treating your actual skin before finding a foundation. I would suggest Witch Hazel or a light dab of tea tree oil as it helps reduce oil on your face. I have the same issues and my foundation goes on much better since I've been using these products!

Thanks Heather, I've tried numerous brands of Witch Hazel and it just dries me out. My problem comes from enlarged pores in my tzone. I'm thinking of investing in a clarisonic.
