What is your routine for applying lipstick? Tips and tricks? What do you have up your sleeve?

Depends on the texture of your lips & the lipstick, matte? glossy? stain? cream?

Put a little clear gloss on first then line your lips and fill it in then take your lipstick and put it all over your lips then and a little clear gloss on top

Exactly what Gen said. Then I either line my lips or fill it in completely then apply my lipstick. Sometimes if I want a cleaner edge I'll line outside of my lips with concealer.
