So, in middle/high school I always had really terrible acne, up until I got on birth control at fifteen. I was on yaz for some PMDD symptoms and I found that it got rid of my acne as well... Fast forward four years later, I'm 19 now. My mom passed away recently and she was the one who always took care of doctors/medicines/etc, so I'm now off the pill and my skin is a DISASTER! I have CONSTANT blackheads popping up everywhere and no matter what products I use they will not budge. Do you guys have any "miracle" products I can try before trying to call my doctor and explaining all of this to get back on the pill?

This is really common, especially after getting off the pill. Your hormones get really wacky and sometimes can take up to a year to get back on track. How long have you been off it? Have you tried taking magnesium supplements? It's not a miracle but it does help with acne for a lot of people, and they r fairly inexpensive to buy at Walmart etc. so sorry to hear about your mom xoxo

It sounds like your acne is caused by a hormonal problem. look into adjusting your diet, first of all. there's a book called The Clear Skin Diet that will probably help you a lot.

Work on calming down the inflammation and preventing new breakouts.

There's no such thing as a miracle product that will suddenly fix all your problems.

My dermatologist has told me that zits on the forehead are from your diet and you can usually clear it up by cleaning up your diet and drinking more water but the lower part of your face is hormonal so unfortunately thats where you have to break out the big guns.

Thank you guys! I've been off the pill for about four months now. I'm going to try the magnesium and talk to my doctor. Most of my zits are around my chin/jawline so I suppose it's mostly hormonal. I get a few on my forehead (specifically the right side, the left is clear all the time!) but not very many.
