You can combine a face lotion that is oil free with some liquid foundation in your color and it can be used as a cheap homemade primer!

Primer helps eye shadow now crease. It also make the shadow looks more pigmented. :)

Primer is your best bet to make shadows stay and also not crease. I never cared for primer myself until a friend introduce it to me few years ago. It's def worth buying. I have very oily lids and my shadow used to crease bad. So my god send is kat Von d's eye shadow primer. It lasts longer than 24 hrs

You just need to shop around with primers. You could start with some cheaper ones, then work your way up in price. ELF has a 1 dollar one, and another one. Palladio, sold at Sally's Beauty supply, has a nice eye primer. Urban Decay's Primer Potion is really nice, you might like Benefit's Stay Don't Stray- although I don't think its best for oily lids. I haven't tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance yet, although I own a sample. In the mean time, use some concealer or foundation or both- but make sure to set it with a light powder. Before the invention of eyeshadow primers, this is what makeup artists used to do.

Sounds dumb but try chapstick. Rub it on your lids then rub it in.

I agree with those who have mentioned elf's primer. For $1 its very good and mine lasted me quite a while. I also sometimes just smudge some leftover concealer onto my eyelids. I did that today because I did a very subtle look and didn't want to use any of my actual primer. I think it worked a little better actually, it had a bit more tack so the shadow stuck better.

eyeslipsface.com and some Targets carry it. Not sure if Walmart does or not, I've never seen it at any near me and I have a hard time finding it at most Target locations too. But you may have better luck :)

Concealer is good! And also NYX eyeshadow base. More pricy is the Behind The Scenes eye primer by LORAC. Best primer ever in my POV. So creamy and works like a charm!;)

Mixing mediums for airbrush makeup work great because they're silicone based like most liquid/cream makeup products

You can try any long lasting concealer. You can also use NYX jumbo stick in "milk" as a wonderful base!
