you can totally use a homemade scrub on your face! maybe try sugar instead of salt though, that's what i'd do:)

I used a homemade scrub or continue to use St.Ives. Also St.Ives made a "gentle" version.

Sure you can use a homemade scrub on your face! However, I'd make sure to use sea-salt instead of normal table salt. Sea Salt is amazing for your skin & promotes healing. People see improvement in their skin by just using a sea-salt toner on their face. I can imagine it being great for a scrub!

What about just adding some brown sugar to your favorite scrub without microbeads? I think you would get the same clean feeling your looking for. Maybe do it with Burts Bees chamomile face wash. That one leaves a minty feeling after washing.

okay? lol feel bad for me thats not gonna stop me from doing what im doing if its working, whos knows if im gonna live tomorrow. And plus just like normal cuts it heals it self so by the time you use it and "cut" your self and go on through the day or sleep depends on when you use it your body will naturally heal it self. And then washing your face with a cleanser your pretty much washing away any sign of any damage. But hey thats just my theory :] . Side note cliniques products are awesome lol :D

Alyse, I'm sure it does cut your face...if you mash it into your skin. Every day. You're not supposed to exfoliate every single day any more than you're supposed to get microdermabrasion every day.
Now if you want to show me some electron microscope photos of cut skin that is the result of label-directed use of St. Ives Apricot scrub, I would be very, very interested to see them.

Stephenie D. I see where you're coming from but why would every esthetician say that it's really bad for your skin when it isn't?
I have read somewhere that even if the package says that the scrub can be used everyday, it should be used every forthnight!

Stephanie I don't use it every day never have nor do I mash it into my face. It cut my face. I thought I was going crazy until I read that it's known to do that. Tiny little cuts I couldn't see but could feel. That doesn't happen anymore since stopping.
