I use a mixture of vinegar and water and a bit of shampoo, soak, then just a warm water soak for a few minutes to get all the vinegar traces out. Gets them nice and clean (vinegar is an anti-bacterial). Does make them smell like vinegar for like a day afterwards, but I don't really notice it.

For spot cleaning I like Face Secrets brush cleaner, I liked hand soap, had an OK time with Dr. Bronners but I'm gonna try Baby Shampoo today! <3
