What made you interested in makeup?

I remember when I was younger (11/12ish) I wasn't into it at all except for eyeliner, that's all I wore. Then my mom made me try foundation for the first time for a party and I realized how good it made me look and the rest is history lol

I always had "makeup shows" when I was five through eight years old and I would spend hours in the bathroom with some dollar store makeup. Lol. Buy when I turned nine my aunt Alice gave me a huge box full of makeup and I've loved it since! Haha 😊

One of my first memories was watching my mom put this case on top of the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. I I asked her what it was and she told me it was makeup. She said that its something to put on your face. She showed me what was in it and (I smelled it too) what it does. I soon fell in love. She told me not to touch it because it's not for little girls (I was 5). I never listened to her. I would go in the bathroom, closed the door and climb on top of the sink to play with it. One day while playing with it, I broke it. Then when I got older my mom bought me this sweet 16 makeup kit (I was like 8). At the age of 9-10 I had Betty Boop type lips and my aunts would put red lipstick on me. My dad would flip and say that color is for hookers. Fathers...smh.

LOL Pamela. That reminds me of how my best friend in high school wasn't allowed to wear red nail polish because her Mom said it was the color of sin haha. I never understood that. My parents were pretty progressive though.

Honestly, youtube i started watching them around 13? I remember i was watching a video on youtube & somehow ended up on faffinette video (back then she was the popular guru) & i remember thinking wow this is soo cool! & i stayed on the computer for 3 hours watching videos from her! I had no idea that makeup world existed on youtube. Thats were my makeup knowledge grew & now its my passion but i feel like it was always in me. 💖💄

@Cameron It's funny cause my mom soo didn't care. I'm my dads only daughter so seeing his 9 or 10 year old wearing red lipstick was not his favorite thing. The only reason my aunts really liked putting lipstick on me was one, I was 1 out 3 girls out of all the children and the only girly girl. Plus I had betty boop lips. LOL

My mom was not one to wear lots of makeup but she would never leave the house without mascara on. She would paint my nails and put a little gloss on me and I was hooked. I was such a wall flower and not very confident and the makeup helped me feel better about myself.

When I was 6yrs old. My mom and her Honduran friends would get together at my house and get all pretty. I LOVED watching them do their make-up. Mom would buy me fake make-up toys and when i would see her put on her make-up I would run and get my make-up toys and copy her haha. I'm now obsessed with trying all these higher famous brands like MAC, Ulta, Sephora. I was more obsessed with hair tutorials than make-up. I found that my favorite Youtube Gurgu also did make-up. When i first entered middle school i was really insecure, so i began to wear makeup to make myself feel better. Then i stumbled about youtube videos and gurus and began to watch regularly and want products they have so i could look like them. Finally as i grew older i got a boyfriend, who im still with 4 years later ;), who really helped me gain confidence in myself. So i had all this makeup and since i was confident i began expirimenting and then the passion began! I now love makeup because it helps me express my artistic side, but i no longer need it to feel beautiful.

I love makeup because its art! A fresh face is like a blank canvas. Yours to create, without completely covering up who you are. Just enhancing and bringing out your assets! I think it's so fun to experiment with different makeup to find what works for your/ other people's faces because obviously everyone's different. If its done right, it looks absolutely beautiful! That's why I love it!
