I've been wanting to change my hair a bit but not with a whole lot of maintenance being required afterwards. So I was thinking I would dye just the ends so my roots can still grow out and it won't look strange. My hair is already blonde so I shouldn't need to lighten too much to put some unnatural colors in it (I was thinking purple and some red or pink) and I read somewhere today that I can color the ends myself by just separating my hair into pig tails. Does this work? I want the color to blend a bit. I don't want an obvious spot where the blonde stops and the color begins. Can I do this myself or should I just trust the lovely ladies at the salon?

Here's the thing, it is possible to do it yourself but if you mess up you're going to have to go to a salon anyways. Salons have better dye aswell which won't damage your hair as much. I've done my hair at home many times simply because I just didn't have the money to go to a salon but if I had the choice I'd always go to a salon! I know two girls that did the colored ends thing at home it turned out really sloppy so I never tried it myself. I did make my ends dark purple once but I simply dyed all the hair underneath which made it fade evenly and it didn't look too drastic I loved it but I got bored of it :) good luck!
