Other than brushing your teeth morning and night, are there any good natural ways to get whiter, healthier teeth?

I actually heard of the baking soda trick. :) But doesn't acidity from the baking soda destroy the enamel of the teeth?

Yeah that's a good idea. :) But I mean if you think about it, what doesn't ruin your enamel these days? :P lol. Thanks a bunch! :)

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more, Lorna! That's why I use all-natural toothpaste. And yes you did! :)

Shuffle Hydrogen Peroxide for a couple minutes each day. It works AMAZING and is fast.

OMG Baking soda works! all you do is take a littlw bit of baking soda and mix it with your toothpaste, and brush your teeth for a long time. But since the baking soda will ruin your enamel, buy some enamel toothpaste and use it once in a while.

*facepalm*

Baking soda is not an acid. It's a fairly neutral substance that reacts with both acids and bases, although aqueous solutions lean more on the alkaline side than the acidic side. In any case, it doesn't bleach your teeth. The crystals are mildly abrasive and will scrub off surface stains the same way your dentist will scrub off surface staining with his intimidating arsenal when you get your teeth cleaned.

Hydrogen peroxide, however, will actually bleach your teeth. You can apply it with a q-tip for 30 seconds or a minute and then brush your teeth. I wouldn't recommend doing this more than once or twice a week, but it does work.

Stop putting Peroxide in your mouth and swishing it!!! Its bad for your tissue and gums.

Yes, using hydrogen peroxide daily is a bad idea and it can soften your teeth and damage your tissues. ADA and FDA both approve of use of hydrogen peroxide for oral use, but its recommended to use it sparingly for bad breath and teeth whitening.

So don't go overboard with it and avoid swallowing it!

Hydrogen Peroxide works well. Just dip a q-tip in some and rub on teeth let sit for about 5-10mins. then brush normally. But BE CAREFUL try not to get any on your gums and don't do more than once or twice a week. its the # one ingredient in teeth whitening products bit when your using it alone it can make your teeth weak. You'll be fine if follow instructions tho! Good luck hope you can see whiter teeth soon! :)

Yeeaaah if you swish the peroxide you really need to dilute it by at least half first. It's a debriding agent...in other words, it's like exfoliating the inside of your mouth. Your tissue in there is pretty sensitive.

I heard hydrogen peroxide makes your tongue and gums black and hairy? My little sister has been brushing her teeth with reg toothpaste for two minutes, then toothpaste dipped in baking soda for two minutes, and every once in a while using Crest whitening strips. It's been working for her(:

On this how-to show, they say to squeeze lemon over a small bowl of baking soda and it fizzes up, then you dip a cotton ball in it and rub it on your teeth. then after a minute or so you brush gently with reg. toothpaste and it doesn't make your teeth sensitive at all (:
