I'm interested in buying a paw palette but are they worth it?

Yes and no. They are small and can be very cheaply constructed, but its far more convienient for more intricant designs.

Hi Samantha,
I LOVE my paw palette. I have all different ones and don't go on set without one. None of them have chipped, cracked, or fallen apart.
If you are just looking to have one to have one, its a great investment. You can use it while applying makeup instead of the back of your hands, and also carry it with you when shopping at counters, nothing worst then getting makeup stains all over your hand. Also its great bringing it to counters or makeup apt. You never know if you artist will have a palette (which they should) I think it is the grossest thing when a stranger puts makeup on the back of their hand, then onto my face!
let me know if you have any other questions!

I would imagine they are better for professional use. Like, I wouldn't buy one just for myself to use. If I was doing others' makeup, I would get one.
