I have tried every product from the drugstore, I'm taking prescribed acne pills and gel lotion for my face at night, during the day I use spot treatment..
I wash my face with cetaphil which is really good for my type of skin (sensitive, oily, peels easily), a calming day lotion from an organic line, and a deep moisturizer for night because the prescribed gel lotion dries my skin out. I use Burt's bees toner and an amazing makeup romover... And I eat well.... I'm 17 and still break out a lot.. WHY

It might just be genetics and have you tried talking to your dermatologist

You could be using too many products, causing your skin to breakout more

I've been battling acne for many years as well.
I think in your case you may be using too many products, thus irritating your skin further. I used to layer on many different acne treatments and it never helped at all. Now I just use a light cleanser, some home remedies every now and then (honey, lemon, cinnamon, etc), a moisturizer, eat healthy, exercise and get some sun on clear days. My skin looks better than ever (not acne free, but much better).

I felt the same way too, I tried so many washes and exfoliators month after month so I just gave up. Then I realized my dad had bad acne when he was a teenager, so it wasn't that I wasn't taking good care of my skin, it was just genetics so I could never fully get rid of it. But I couldn't help myself because I hated wearing makeup everyday to school to cover up, and the bumps were so ugly. So I bought the acne.org regimen because I had been looking at it for a long time but always thought maybe this other thing will work (I just didn't want to wait for it to ship, plus drugstore products are cheaper). But I'm so glad I did because I only have one pimple right now and the rest are just red marks from past breakouts. I was hoping it would work in less than 2 weeks (this was around Christmas and I wanted to be clear by then) and by then it got better. But then I starting getting more in areas I usually would, so I thought it stopped working and almost gave up. But I'm glad I didn't because 4 weeks later I love my skin. All I'm working on now is getting rid of the marks!

waiting 8 months to talk to a dermatologist is better than waiting forever... however i'm very unsure of how your dr would know that every derm available is booked 8 months out.

If I were you, I'd stop using all of those products. Dermalogica is a great range of products made from essential oils that will treat your skin and prevent further breakouts. Also, maybe try using a different foundation or investing in a good primer, like Inglot's "Under Makeup Base". It's made only from silicone so it will allow your skin to breathe through your makeup whilst creating a physical barrier that your foundation won't be able to seep through. If nothing is helping, you should really go to the doctors and get your hormones checked. Some people just go through these stages unfortunately and hopefully it will right itself for you! :(

Here's the thing, I know someone who got acne when she was in her thirties which is not normal. She tried everything to get rid of it and nothing worked so she searched for natural ways. First, the non organic milk a lot of people drink have added hormones in it so that it doesn't affect men the same as it affects women. Women will get more acne due to the milk. Try organic milk and if you have heard of turmeric buy some sticks I it and put some water on it and rub it on your face and leave it on like a mask for about 30 mins take it off and this should help. You could also try to dab some rose water on with a cotton ball. Let me know how it works out!!

Girl, I'm 38 years old and still dealing with acne. Everyone who has commented prior to me has brought up some worthwhile steps worth investigating. For myself personally I had to leave cows milk alone. It didn't matter if it was organic or not.....it just gave me nasty breakouts. I learned over the years that my acne is caused mainly by the foods I eat followed by hormonal. I also follow a strict skincare program.

I agree that sounds like lot of products. Have you asked the Dr.'s opinion of the stuff you are moisturizing and washing with?

You are supposed to wash ur face 3 times a day and dont touch ur face with dirty hands. Also if you wear to much makeup that could be a problem too! (:

Hormones!!! Try Yaz birth control to get them evened out

you are NOT supposed to wash your face 3 times a day Solara! omg please don't tell people that because it is untrue and will cause excess oil production and can irritate your skin.
I don't wash my face but ONCE a day, in the morning I use a wipe and at night my clarisonic, and my skin is really good. I don't have acne problems though so I can't help with that. But washing your face 3 times a day is NOT the answer!

its cuz your skin is greasy so you have to use dry soap and wash your face in the morning.
