I know this isn't makeup or hair. But it's the first place I thought to get different opinions. My fiancé & I just got engaged. I found so so many beautiful dresses online. One in particular that I adore & it's cheaper. But I haven't found a physical store that carries it. Opinions & advice on buying a wedding dress online, please?

#1 rule to buying any wedding dress: you will need your exact *TAILOR MEASURED* sizes. Now tailor measured does not mean you need to pay an arm and a leg for sizing. Any basic seamstress will know how to measure you. You could even have an adept friend do it with instructions. The important part is you cannot properly measure yourself, and any GOOD wedding dress supplier will ask for these measurements. Therefore, when searching for wedding dress outlets online, this should be your first clue. **note, some bridal websites will list available dresses under common sizing for ease of browsing, and then list specific measurements on the dress details page.
2. The next most important thing to do/remember: not everything you love on the rack will look good on your body type. If you find a dress online that you love, it had measurements that seem to coincide properly with yours, and you have placed the dress on your serious contenders list: TRY IT OUT. Just like a car, you don't want a formal dress you have not tried. If the dress is only available online, take note of the materials and any significant structure/fashion elements and then try on dresses with similar elements. This will help you sooo much decide if you like the way a certain material falls, or if that A frame dress skirt loses your curves etc..
3. For your research about the company. Read reviews, check BBB, if they're international ask about customs fees etc..
4. Almost every wedding dress ever, even the most miraculously perfect fit, will need some kind of alteration. The probability of this will increase greatly with an online purchase because every design is cut a little bit differently. Don't be afraid of this and budget for it.
5. Online can be a great place to find deals, but like anything else there is always room for a disaster. If you decide to purchase an online dress, do so at least 6 months before your wedding, and have 2 back ups picked out until your dress arrives and you feel comfortable that it is going to be just what you want on your wedding day.

Lastly, congratulations!! Weddings are a wonderful experience and I wish you and your love a lifetime of happiness. <3

im having the exact same problem, iv fallen in love with my wedding dress but it's coming from China, iv read customers feedback about some of their wedding dresses they do and they are all very pleased with their dresses.

Because I can't try it on to see if it suits me or if I like the material I am very nervous for it to arrive, it's very cheap and that also plays on my mind, but I could be spending nearly a grand on a dress that could be at the same standard. If I dont like how the dress looks on me and if im not happy with it then I suppose I can find another dress. Now when I say cheap I mean cheap.

Congratulations and good luck with all you're planning, don't get stressed and have fun with it!!x
