New to the whole make-up scene

so i have been doing my own make-up for some years now and i mainly do my cover-up and eyes. Im trying to go for the new look but all i have seen is the Mac and Urban decays and Nyx..i love my make-up but im not the one who likes to buy the expensive stuff..so what do i do? And where can i get the primer & etc.?
