I never used to tan since im naturally tan and lived in a very sunny place in miami but now i live in a cold place and i feel like i have turned too pale so i just use a gradual indoor self tanner to maintain a nice glow

@shelley that's incredible, mum of three, full time student and competing, kudos to you, I don't think there's many women who could do that! I definitely want to go see some competitions, like you said competing is whole different ball game. You should put up pics of you competing- no excuse for none of us to hit the gym!

I would love to, but I can't do it just right. I end up giving up and laying in the sun instead..

@Farrah...I've been doing it for two years. I recently had to lay off working out because I was diagnoised with adrenal fatigue. I have a extreme case of it so I was basically banned by trainer and doc to just relax and chill. The stress of trying to juggle a whole lot at once really caught up with me. At the height of it all I was only getting in 4 hours of sleep a night. Not good considering I'm also a mom of three and a full-time college student. Will say this though...to go figure is not for the faint of heart and only a small number of the population can get their body to that point because the genetic make-up already has to be in place. A good friend of mine wanted to go figure but her body just wasn't having that so she had to settle for bikini and she looks smokin' hot. I might have to drop down to bikini for health reasons myself. :( But you should definitely give it a go...I love it when I hear of other gals getting into the sport.

Definitely to tan. When done properly it looks amazing and you can't beat a healthy glow. It looks far healthier than dull skin. Vita Liberata all the way though!!!

I dont like it on me but on some people it wakes their skin look awesome and glowing. On me it looks fake. I have light tan skin so that stuff makes me yellow.

I'm not a fan of fake tan, I like my complexion as it is. @shelley w, did I read correctly you do figure competitions? That's amazing, I've always been in awe of how much hard work it is. My trainer and I are thinking of going to some competitions! I think it will help me with my motivation. How long have you been doing it for?

I have to spray tan for figure competitions and I love I how on stage with it on because it shows every cut on my body but once the event is over I'm waiting (and scrubbing) the customary two weeks for it to fade. For my non compete months (which is usually summer for me) I like using this tan in bottle that is a more natural.

I have nothing against fake tan, unless it makes someone really orange for me personally I don't and never will fake tan, my skin is porcelain toned, and any imperfections would show up too much time and effort would be wasted on me!

lol Tilly!! I would suggest starting with a gradual self tanning lotion in your case ;)

I dont mind fake tan, anything has to be better than sunbeds and burning, but i can never do it right n always end up too orange or patchy. Id rather be pale so i stay natural. If anyone knows any really good ones i can try let me know, im going to egypt soon n i will stand out so bad because i dont tan naturally either. Pale and giger, hurray lol.

Yeah, everyone's different, and some people look better pale some others dont.
