How to hot roll long hair?

I have very long hair & used to always hot roll it. But, now that it's so long I can't seem to get it to hold curl when put on hot rollers. What should I do?

You can take smaller sections. It's probably not holding a curl because there is too much hair on the roller for the heat to penetrate fully from the hot rollers. My hair is past my waist and that's exactly why I don't bother, although I could probably get away with it since I have some very short layers in there to keep it from being too weighed down. Sooo...yeah. Smaller sections, or rethink your cut.

Alternatively, you could try rolling your hair on soda cans and then blowdrying them if you're just doing it for volume. Just be careful and don't burn yourself because soda cans will get quite hot.
