I'm 22 years old and every winter I break out really bad but only on my forehead. Is benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid more affective to treat my acne and what can be the cause of it?

You might want to investigate using either an AHA serum or moisturizer OR a glycolic serum of at least 10%. There could be a number of reasons why you're breaking out on your forehead during winter. Do you tend to consume more coffee during this time? I ask that because for me if I consume too much joe my skin rebels. Winter is the only time I gorge out on coffee for obvious reasons. Another reason could be the extreme temperature changes. Going from a heated environment to stepping outside into the chilly elements can affect the skin as well. I'm not a fan of benzoyl peroxide due to ugly experiences with it in the past (killed my acne but left scars behind & was super drying). If you're curious about Salicylic acid I suggest using a version from Murad that is sold at Sephora. I sometimes reach for it from time to time (my daughter uses it often) and I use it in place of my usual antioxidant serum (I dont apply both in the affected area) followed by my usually moisturizing spf. I usually see results after three days and once the area clears up I stop using it and go back to my usual routine.
