Makeup in School!?

A teacher once asked me, "why do you bother with make up?" And I don't know if it was because He was asking why a boy was wearing makeup or why ANYONE bothers to wear makeup to school. So what do you think, I it worth putting all that effort into makeup just for school? I think it gives an extra bit of confidence. What do you think?

I only do complexion makeup for school because my skin is red and blotchy when I wake up. I spend <5min on makeup and its worth it to look good, but I don't see the point in going all-out for school...plus then it's way more fun and has a more dramatic effect when I do get all dolled up for special occasions!
