I never used bleach and yes I'm a bit upset that I have to use bleach for my hair /: because I have faded red hair right now but I'm gonna dye it to a light brown color . The lady at Sally's beauty supply told me I have to use bleach .
She said to use half of the bleach packet but I don't know if I was suppose to mix it with the color mix or do I that separately?

No you just use the bleach alone. You need to mix the powder with a developer, apply the bleach to the hair for at least 30 minutes and then condition it as much as possible. Try to wait a couple days before using the actual hair dye, give your hair a break.
