Hey girlys ^.^
I want to dye my hair from red to light golden brown.
The first and only time I dyed my hair was the color red and I bought it from Sally's. I didn't need bleach because the dye was for dark hair. The first time i dyed it it was may 2012 and the last time I dyed it red was October .
I went to Sally's and they told me I have to use bleach but I can use half of the 1 oz packet of powdered bleach and then I used a 30 vol developer and color dye I wanted. So yesterday I dyed my hair and it made me so sad !!! :( since my roots are growing out it looks uneven and there are parts that are brown and parts that are red especially the bangs area .
Please help ! :/ and please give me instructions on what I should do <3

Your gonna have to bleach it to an even colour then put a semi brown over it

Mmmmm I wouldn't bleach it. Well, I guess that depends on how much lighter you want to go or if you just want to take the red out and mute it to a golden brown. If you just want to mute it, you can tone it with an ash color and then go back over it with a golden brown.

She's gonna have to strip it out which is bleach bath. Then put a golden brown over it so it will be an even colour.

I've gotten bright red out without using bleach. But hey. Maybe I have super bionic hair or something.

As a hairdresser, it makes perfect sense to strip it. If you have a client, you really have no idea what they've done to their hair or how many times, and each process has an effect on the dye absorption and what color will come out most prominently. It's like being a doctor without a patient history. I do have a full history of my hair, and though long experience I've gotten pretty good at predicting the exact result of what will happen when I use and mix certain colors and what's possible to achieve by what method. So...for a hairdresser, it makes sense to strip it. It is, however, not strictly necessary given the above described circumstance assuming that she doesn't want her hair to be overall lighter in tone.
