I've never used one and I'm not even sure what they are. Should I invest in one? And what's the difference between a blending brush and a regular one?

You use a blush for blending your eyeshadow unless you have another clean eyeshadow brush to blend with (QueenOfBlending does that). Unblended eyeshadow, to be quite frank, looks absolutely ridiculous unless you're doing a "high fashion" look or something.

I use a blending brush to literally blend two shadows together so it gives the look that one color fades into another. The blending brush also helps to blend my crease so that it doesn't look I have this harsh line across my eyelid. Hope that helps

Very necessary unless u use only one eyeshadow, all the time.

The best way to establish which brushes you would use is to play around with them. I find that I use a crease brush, a smudge brush and an angled brush. Is be fine with only those 3. If you can learn to bled and shade with the brushes you already have, I'm sure you will be fine. The thing about make up is find what works for you.
