Throughout spring/summer my skin gets pretty oily. Is there any way to prevent it or keep it under control?

Water based products definitely. Change your skin care routine to oil free products. Also I am currently using a cream for my Tzone and it prevents of forming oil. :)

Water based products is just going to make everything slide off your face, if your skin is oily & you use water based products it's like mixing water & oil it's not going to mix well... You need to use oil free, silicone based products which go really really well with oily skin. I recommend using an oil control gentle daily face wash & using jojoba oil at nifty which will trick your skin that it already produced oil therefore will not produce more oil, also drink a lot of water ,it will keep your skin hydrated
& blot papers will be your best friend, I carry them everywhere

I think using a mattifying primer would help also!
even if you don't wear foundation.
becca ever matte
Rimmel stay matte
MUFE step 1 skin equalizer matte primer which is new and I've heard great things about.
