Hi beauties. I have been playing around with the idea of a perm in my head for a while now and I'm thinking about just doing it. But I thought I'd ask for some opinions first. Have you ever had a perm? Are they easy to maintain? I have a little past shoulder length hair ; will it look right? Anything helps! Thank you. 💕

It'll definitely take a few inches of length away so you'll be left with a shortish perm. I haven't had one personally but I know that the liquid stuff that they use smells horrid haha. But they take awhile to "settle" so when your stylist says she's done, it's not completely settled and it'll look a little different after it is settled which can take anywhere from 16-28 hours.

Just make sure you're positive its what you want, because cutting the permed hair is the only way to completely get rid of it.

Omg, I didn't know that Bailee! I thought perms faded within a couple months.

I think I really just wanted some nice, soft, full curls without having to curl my hair everyday. But after hearing that, I might just suck it up!

Perms can fade within a couple of months :) your hair will grow out and they are not that bad. I've done a handful of perms and I think they look nice! You would look great with soft curls :) tell them to show you bigger rods. I'm sure your stylist wouldn't mind!

They fade, but it will never go back to the orginal state your hair was in before. I just had this conversation with the ladies at the salon the day before yesterday haha.

My friends got a perm two years ago and her hair was beautiful! Now it's not as beautifully curly anymore, more like awkward small waves in random places. She usually just keeps her hair tied up now.

Get a keratin treatment it will give you straight hair (if that's what you want) and make your hair shiner and stronger. Perms could damage your hair on the long run too not just having to cut it out.

I had a perm and although it smelled horrid at first, I loved it and would definitely get one again. It did fade over time but didn't completely go away. It all depends on how curly you get the perm. They have different sized roller type things lol. I got a heavy wave and loved it. Very easy to maintain and so much better than waking up early to do your hair everyday!

I got a perm last summer and I looove it! It's still going pretty strong and it's been like 9 months. I used a mixture of big rods and small rods and it's perfectly curly and wavy. All I have to do in the morning is scrunch my hair with some water and I'm done. I definitely would get one again.
