I would recommend taking her to see a doctor.

Cradle cap is basically dandruf. try loosening the "scales" so you can comb them out and then shampoo the area. try Neutrogena t gel. most of the time it will go away on its own. if it persists then see a doctor. it may be a type of yeast (or fungus) that is causing this.

Thanks kelly, I thought cradle cap was different than dandruff in the sense that it was caused by being oily, instead of dryness like dandruff.. And she's had it since a baby, just with her long hair I don't see it unless I'm actually styling her hair like this morning.. Sadly outa sight outa mind 😞 but I'll look into that t-gel.

Does she go to bed with her hair wet? That could be part of the reason.

No Lola, I'm sure to dry her hair before hand or else it's super matted in the morning :(

Hmm, I'm not sure what you should do then. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. 😕

Raylene, actual dandruff is caused from oils, or a build up of sebum on the scalp. dry scalp is just that, dry scalp. there's a huge difference and a lot of people don't know this. that is why when most people treat their "dandruff" they end up making it worse because they really just have dry scalp. if that makes sense

Raylene, can you get Optima Tea Tree Oil? Here in the UK I bought it from Holland & Barrett.
Mix 1 part oil to 2 parts water and apply with a cottonwool bud
Divide hair into rows as if you were applying a dye and apply.
Once you have applied the mixture to the whole scalp massage gently and leave for 30 minutes.
Rinse with water only and dry.
It is laborious but I think it might be the answer. My granddaughter suffered with a similar problem the only difference is that she has short hair so much easier to deal with. I think my daughter had to do it for 2 shampoos. Hope it works for your daughter. Let me know if it does.

Don't no if you can get it where you are but we have some shampoo called dentinox it's for cradle cap in infants/kids but can also be used after for just general healthy scalp d hair, I've used it and continue to on my 3 kids, my daughter is near 2 and still gets what your daughter has but the shampoo clears it up a treat! To no adverse affects on there beautiful hair! It contains natural moisturisers too, it's also really cheap! Highly recommend it if you can get it!

On my daughter I used Dr. Bronners castille soap. You can find it at target. I used that and a fine tooth comb.
