Can you use acne face washes even though you don't have acne? will it work as a precaution? or will it just be pointless?

There are certainly preventative cleansers, but they're more for maintenance for people who had/have acne. I wouldn't take the risk of irritating your skin by using something you don't need.

Most face washes with active acne fighting ingredients either kill acne bacteria or slow the growth of already existing acne bacteria I don't know if it works preventatively.

It doesn't hurt to use them. I'm currently using a cleanser that contains tea tree oil but I don't have any active acne. It is assisting with keeping my oil production in check. It can become an issue if you are using a cleansing where the active ingredients sit high on the list and your skin experiences some irritation. If using an active ingredient cleanser I just advise rotating it with a non-active cleanser...use one for AM and another for PM.
