This may sound like a stupid question, but is chiseling and contouring any different? Or are they synonyms? Just wondering.

They're synonyms :) though I do find that chiseling is used more often if it is a sharp dramatic contour.

Chiseled is a strong face mainly a man's face structure bold cut. Contour is building a Silhouette showing shape (Dark shadows) building a soft yet subtle finish.
