Hey! So I've heard people talk about brushing lemon juice through your hair then sitting out in the sun and that it makes your hair lighter. Is this true?? I have blonde hair and it does get lighter in the sun, but I'd like to speed up the process. If this is true, is there a technique I should use to get the best results? Will this damage my hair or ruin my natural highlights? Thanks!

Also, will this make my hair orange? I've seen girls do it on brown hair and it comes out really uneven and orange...

I have blonde hair and I've been using lemon juice to lighten my hair every summer. I dilute it with water and spray it evenly on my hair. It works quite well and has never turned my hair orange. The only drawback is that it is quite drying, although this is fixed with using hydrating shampoo and conditioner or deep conditioning regularly.

If your hair is naturally blonde it probably will not go orange. It does lift colour and if your hair is darker the next step up naturally is quite brassy until you get to the light blondes. Though it is quite drying in the sun.

If you already have chemically touched hair, it can turn your hair brittle and brassy and a little orange. Just dilute it a bit- use one fourth lemon juice and three fourths water or leave in conditioner to keep your hair soft. If your hair still in a good condition after that, move up to two parts lemon juice and so on. I do this for some of my friends, seeing as I'm Asian and it turns my hair extremely dry and brittle. You can also paint the solution onto certain parts of your hair to make certain parts lighter

My friend actually did this once. It looks very
, very blonde at the tips (considering she has very dark hair). It does take a couple weeks to do though. You have to spray it in all day and let the sun do its magic.
