Attempted smokey eye, tips for improvement.

So I attempted a smoky eye look a few days ago, it's been a long time since my last miserable fail LOL. It still looks a bit off to me, can someone tell me ways I can improve?
I used the Kat Von D shade and light eyeshadow palette
Estée Lauder double wear foundation
KVD wish blush
Baby doll beauty highlight in "mermaid skin"

Thank you Jacqueline, I kind of did the exact opposite from what you said lol. I started from the bottom and worked my way up, I was also using the "windshield wiper" motion haha.
Thank you for the awesome advice, hopefully that will help me for my next attempt

It looks lovely! The only I would add is a bit of eyeliner for definition. Tight-lining would also be a flattering addition.

&thank you Jasmyn, I haven't learned to tight line yet, I get uncomfortable and nervous having something so close to my upper lash line.. I don't know if I could do it
